Volunteering At Harbour House

Volunteering at Harbour House

heart with handprints behind it. Text reads "Volunteers needed"

Harbour House is run by a volunteer Board of Directors and volunteerism is at the heart of what we do. We rely on and appreciate everyone who volunteers their time and energy to our work and vision.

Lend Your Skills And Experience

We often have special projects in-house for which we could use the help of volunteers. One example is the vegetable garden we have been building and expanding in our backyard. The women and children who come to the shelter, love to tend the garden and snack on the amazing things that grow. Each Spring, we need volunteers to help us prepare the garden and plant it. In the Fall, we need help prepping it for winter.

In the past, volunteers have spent time shopping for groceries, offering self-care groups at the shelter in the evenings (hair and manicures), and have provided yoga and mindfulness activities.

Have a skill you would like to share that you don’t see here? We are always looking for new ideas and ways in which we can connect the talents of members of our community with the essential work we do at Harbour House.
