Monetary Donations

Monies donated to Harbour House can be designated to a specific purpose - i.e. help with capital costs, support for programs and services, projects identified through the Families Supporting Families annual campaign, etc. Unspecified donations will be allocated to our operational budget and will fund anything from staffing and groceries to paying for electricity, etc. Charitable tax receipts are issued for donations over $25.00.

Gift Card Donations

Harbour House always appreciates gift card donations. Many women who engage with our services have lived with no choices. A gift card allows them to empower themselves by choosing exactly what they need to purchase. Gift cards for groceries (Superstore, Sobeys etc.), are very important when setting up their new home. We also love being able to provide gift cards for pharmacies, gas stations, clothing stores and even for hair salons. New Item Donations

Harbour House currently only accepts new item donations like pajamas, socks, and underwear. Every day, our team is busy supporting women and we lack the space to process used clothing or household goods. This means we cannot accept gently used donations at the shelter.

However, we love for our clients to have a 'shopping experience' through our partners. Local options like Souls Harbour, Saint Vincent de Paul, and United Way’s Coats for Kids (during their active seasons) are fantastic ways you can donate gently used clothing, coats, furnishings, beds, and kitchen items!
